Workout Program Reviews-

Let's talk about workout programs! I have purchased a couple of different programs and want to give an honest review of them, starting with my favorite! I have put them in order from favorite to least favorite!

CCFit APP & Challenges:

This is my absolute favorite workout app to use and quite frankly the only one I have seen and felt real results from. My workout and weight loss goals have always been to lose between 5-10lbs and just tone up. Her workouts have helped me do that, but it took commitment to see those results. A lot of her workouts focus on using bodyweight or actual weights. The app has hundreds workouts that you can access too!

Pros:

  1. She hosts fitness tournaments/challenges in Fall, Winter, and Spring (you can redo these at any time if you missed one). She also has plenty of other workouts with an entire "at-home" workout option as well if you do not have a gym membership.

  2. 5 different workouts that focus on different parts of the body each week. The variety of exercises keeps me from getting bored of working out.

  3. There are also super short videos and directions of each exercise, which helped me feel more confident walking into the weight section of the gym. (I fear is being one of those viral videos of someone using a machine wrong at the gym)

  4. I also prefer these short gif like videos of exercises one by one as opposed to having one long video of the entire workout and having to pause after each exercise it shows or try to skip back through a long video and find what place a specific exercise is if I forgot how to do it right.

  5. The challenges have an actual meal plan & grocery shopping list: ideas for meals and exactly what to shop for which gives a great place to start if you're not sure what to buy!

Cons:

  1. Unfortunately, you now have to pay to see any of the workouts (some used to be free) but for me, it's worth the $8.99 a month app fee.

  2. For challenges, you end up doing each full workout twice, but a week apart, and you are supposed to increase weights. This can feel repetitive at times but helps with routine considering these challenges last for 8 weeks

Here is an example of the results when I did an 8-week challenge of hers. Again, my goal has always just been to tone or lose 5-10lbs, so my before and after pictures may not seem drastic, but they got me a lot closer to where I wanted to be. In the 8-week transformation pictures below I went from 124lbs down to 117lbs. (don't mind my face in these pics🤣🤦🏼‍♀️ )

Tammy Hembrow 8 week Booty building Guide:

This was an 8-week workout guide I purchased a few years ago that I still occasionally pull workouts from! This one is best for the gym and if you mainly need exercise ideas to train your booty, hence the title.

Pros:

  1. Workouts definitely make you sore

  2. Can do most of the workouts at home, if you have the correct equipment (or just don't use weights)

  3. Good for beginners

Cons:

  1. No videos, but pictures are pretty self-explanatory

  2. Doesn't have workouts for other parts of the body, but that's obvious from the title

  3. Weeks 1-4 Only have 3 different workouts to do, weeks 4-8 only have 3 other workouts to do.. so again it can feel super repetitive doing the same 3 workouts each week

Michelle Marie Fitness program:

I purchased this 21 day fit pregnancy challenge for $21 and I can tell you I don't love it, especially compared to CCFit. I like to feel sore after my workouts and with this one, I don't. The first week of the challenge is just to prep yourself and set goals... I thought it would be 21 workouts, but nope.

Pros:

  1. Great for beginners

  2. includes a meal plan/meal ideas

Cons:

  1. It's only 14 workouts and some of them are the same- for a 21- day challenge, I would prefer different exercises not multiple days of the same thing

  2. I don't get the "soreness" or feel like I had a solid workout

  3. If you're looking for a tough challenge, it has very beginner-level workouts with low variety. (some days its 3 sets of 20 reps of the same 3-4 exercises)

  4. It has long videos of all the exercises put together that you have to pause between each exercise.
