Biscuit Breakfast Casserole

We typically go out to brunch, on Saturday or Sunday but when we don’t, this is something I like to make! It does take about one hour from start to finish, so I don’t make this one all the time. I find I can make it faster if I use premade frozen sausage patties and frozen hashbrown patties & it tastes just as good :) If you like Biscuits & Gravy and all the breakfast sides this one is for you!
Ingredients:
1 can Buttermilk Biscuit Dough
6 eggs
1lb Breakfast sausage
1 Cup Cheese
1/2 Cup Milk
1 bag Hashbrowns
Gravy:
4tbsp Butter
4 tbsp Flour
2 Cups Milk
Salt & Pepper to taste
Directions:
Start your gravy:
Melt your butter
Whisk in flour until browned
Slowly whisk in milk and allow it to boil
Simmer the gravy and whisk until desired thickness
add salt and pepper to taste
Prep your casserole:
Heat oven to 350 degrees
Spray 8.5x11 baking dish with Pam
In a pan heat your hashbrowns until cooked
In a separate pan brown your sausage
Once sausage is cooked set aside
Break biscuit dough into 1/4inch size pieces and layer on the bottom of the dish
Scatter sausage over top of the biscuit dough
Layer Hashbrowns on top of biscuits and sausage
In a bowl, crack your eggs, add 1/4C milk and 1/2C Cheese & whisk (add salt and pepper too if you desire)
Pour the whisked egg mixture over the casserole
Bake uncovered until eggs are cooked @ 350 (30ish minutes)
Pour gravy over the casserole
Bake on 350 uncovered for about 10 more minutes
Looking to cook for just 2? Half the recipe and make it in an 8x8 dish. Also bomb with hot sauce 🥵
*if I cook it with sausage patties and hashbrown patties, I do one of each patty per person eating *
